HSS Celebrates Nurses Week 2008

“Nurses: Making a Difference Everyday.” That's the theme of this year's National Nurses Week, May 6-12, which celebrated all the things nurses accomplish every day.

The week-long celebration at HSS, May 5-9, included unit-based lunches, breakfast for the night staff, massage therapy sessions, hand reflexology and keynote speaker Veda Andrus, EdD, MSN, RN, a national leader in holistic nursing education. On May 7, the 2008 Excellence in Professional Nursing Practice awards were presented in the Richard L. Menschel Education Center, hosted by Stephanie Goldberg, MSN, R.N., CNAA-BC, vice president of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer. Each year nurses from every unit nominate a co-worker who exemplifies excellence at work.
